This wedding day vision shoot took place at Le Chateau – a totally magical location (think : moss covered historic rock garden terrace and staircase) is reopening in the Fall of 2017.  We love anything historic and love when nature has made itself present among the historic beauty even more.  When we were invited to come see the property and take some photographs, we jumped on the opportunity.  We love a good adventure and of course – documenting all the beauty that entails.  When we arrived at the location we were greeted and amazed by:

  •  The distinguished grandeur of a hilltop mansion, breathtaking views of Hudson Valley sunsets from terraced patios, acres of lush gardens, and rooms that have hosted glittering celebrations since the Gilded Age.
  • Huge American chestnut beams are found throughout the estate, and all of the woodwork was hewn and detailed by hand. Grand staircases and massive stone fireplaces are further reminders of a gracious era long past.
  • Quote from Sarah of Le Chateau – “There is no other property in this area where you can experience the beauty and history of Le Chateau, along with the modern updates of a brand new facility, all in a completely private setting. It is truly a one-of-a-kind destination for weddings and other special events. I am honored to have the opportunity to share this venue with clients.”

Enza of Enza Events (event design company based in Ridgefield, CT) was the artistic eye and hand behind the bouquet.  We probably took about 200 photographs of the bouquet alone because we were so enthralled with it.  From Enza herself “The bouquet we designed for this shoot was created with garden roses, lisianthks, seeded eucalyptus, veronica, silver brunia & dusty miller. After seeing the Bride’s gorgeous beaded gown and the amazing backdrop of Le Chateau we knew that a textured unconstructed bouquet was the way to go.”

Stephanie was our bride for this wedding vision.  A real bride of ours from this passed December (whose wedding we will be blogging in the future) who has this timeless beauty and grace about her.  We were so happy to work with her and of course document her again.

You know how you have internet friends that you hope to run into in real life?  That is how we felt about Jennifer of J. Kinford Beauty Group.  When we realized we were going to be working with her on this shoot we were so excited to finally meet her in real life.  She is immensely talented and Stephanie’s make up was a total dream.  A quote from the Jennifer Kinford herself in regards to her inspiration behind her make up application:

“I was inspired by Stephanie’s dress, her beautiful dark hair and creamy skin. I’m never one for encouraging someone to be tan or ‘contour’ so working with her beautiful pale skin was a dream. I wanted a classic, yet modern red lip so I went for a deeper and pinker tone red with a creamy base. Complimenting that with flawlessly flushed skin and some fluffy lashes, gave her a classically modern bridal look that fit in perfectly at Le Chateau.”

Her hair was the most elegant deconstructed updo created by Chea Quinn of CQ Salon.  Chea is a perfectionist in the most wonderful way.  She creates such gorgeous hair that looks so natural and accidental but if you watch her do it – you see every little bit in intentional.

It was such a beautiful winter day and we were so honored to have captured the magic of the location and the talents of these amazing people.
