This Hudson Valley waterfall elopement editorial was the love child of a few local ladies and a ton of dreams.  This all came to be thanks to an Instagram direct message from Lauren Koster of I Love Love Events.  We met for coffee, were amazed by her taste, vision, & TALENT – threw in the waterfall location (a location I (Caitlinn) swam at as a child) and so it was becoming a reality.  We were lucky enough to have Stu & Leanne play out a dream of having their own elopement as our real life married couple who in real life had a gorgeous autumn wedding that we photographed a few years prior.  (See it here.) When we got Annaliese of Annaliese & Co. , Makeup By Marriessa, Kelly of Beaurust Flowers, and Lovely Bride with a TO DIE FOR Rue De Seine dress & Jennifer Behr headpiece, and the ladies of StylWed on board – it was time to make the vision come to life.

Something Brian and I often dream about are elopements – they are a totally different marriage and photographic experience.  They exude this sense of quiet magic that seems to radiate through the air when there are a handful of people present.  They are not for everyone, but they are for you – just do it.  We just want everyone to have the wedding that they want as a couple – not what their friends think they should have – and not what they families are pressuring them to do.  We just want everyone to follow their hearts and let it all align.  If having a giant party wedding is following your heart – that’s great and tons of fun and we also love photographing that! If getting married in front of a waterfall with just you and a handful of people is what you want – then do it.  We’ve shot elopements in which we were the legal witnesses because other than the officiant – we were the only people present (& photographing).  Being someone’s legal witness out of necessity is something we find so fun and fascinating (& special!).

From Lauren of I Love Love Events:

“The inspiration for this elopement came from the beautiful, scenic backdrop.  I wanted to contrast that with bright pops of color so the table and flowers really stand out.  I love the idea of an enchanted picnic in the middle of the forest, like you walked into a well-styled episode of “The Bachelor.”  I recently travel to Morocco and while the look isn’t overly Moroccan, I brought back some stunning textiles that all make an appearance in the shoot and prove that bohemian can be bright and colorful.

Caitlinn of The Ramsdens captured my vision better than I imagined in my head.  And Kelly from Beaurust Flowers nailed it!  That bouquet is out of this world!!!!  And, can we talk about the floral chandler!?

The Rue De Seine gown from Lovely Bride could not have been more perfect.  The exquisite metallic hand beading was just the right amount of edge.

The handmade table linens, leather elopement sign and custom backdrop are all available in my Etsy shop.”
