Shane + Nancy had the most magical intimate wedding on the Manhattanville College campus (where Shane teachers) at the Lady Chapel which features A. GLASS. CEILING. Shane is an old friend and when he tagged us in a photo of the chapel on instagram to show us where their wedding ceremony would be taking place, it’s safe to say, being the enthusiastic person that I am, there were many squeals of excitement. When we met with them prior to their wedding to see the chapel, and various other gorgeous castles around campus for photo locations, it really hit us just how magical this place is. We could not think of a single place that would have been a better location for their marriage ceremony than this one. It was spot on perfect for these two wonderful souls. Shane wore a suit he already owned (why the heck not?!) and Nancy wore a vintage lace dress from Gossamer that was from the late 1800’s!!! They had the most gorgeous florals designed by Aurora Botanica who also created Nancy’s veil and altered her dress.
They stayed true to themselves, did what they wanted, were married in March, and planned their wedding in two months (Brian and I did the same!).
From the Bride & Groom on the location, wedding planning, music, and ceremony details:
Why did you choose the Lady Chapel?
“It looked like a fairytale and since our wedding was in March it enabled us to have an outdoor feel to our wedding while not being cold. Also, funny enough, neither of us thought of the location until my Mom suggested it. It was Shane’s favorite place to read & write as a student and his favorite spot to teach classes as a professor.”

What was your favorite thing about your wedding ceremony?
“We loved that it felt like our family and friends were participating along with us during our ceremony, laughing (and crying) with us.
Our wedding day was unexpectedly warm for March so we last minute decided to leave open the big wooden doors behind where our ceremony was taking place. It really enhanced the beauty of our ceremony. It let in all this wonderful natural light.”
“Anything floral, wild and vintage.”
“Our wedding was true to us as a couple. It was spontaneous , planned in two months, very DYI and filled with laughter.”‘
Fun Fact : Brian and I met 2 minutes down the road from the Lady Chapel. Little did we know that this magical place existed moments away behind the large stone wall that surrounds Manhattanville College.
